The words that our Savior spoke to the disciples just before He ascended to Heaven should be as real and true to us today as it was for them at that time. (Matthew 28: 19 & 20) Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. This Scripture to us is what we know as the great commission. Many of us haven’t the ability to go to other countries and share the gospel so that is why we are thankful for our FWB Missionaries. With the World population at almost 7 billion and a little over 40% of them have not been reached with the gospel. It excites me to know that we are part of a denomination that has taken this calling serious. We as a denomination have FWB Missionaries in countries as Brazil, Uruguay, Cot d’lvoire in Africa, Spain, France, Bulgaria Japan and India. International Missions relies on donations to fund the missions’ enterprise. Your gift provides missionary support, plants churches, trains national pastors, places Bibles and Christian literature in the hands of children, disciples new Christians, and funds the home offices. Let us as a church family pray to our heavenly Father for more of a burden and a bigger role in supporting our FWB Missionaries. Some of the ways we can do this is through monthly support, World Mission Offering in April (Coin Boxes), special offerings thru this year, and continue our involvement in the walk-a-thon effort each year. I am reminded of a verse of the song "Thank You For Giving To The Lord", the setting is in church and the offering plate is being past and you didn’t have much to give but you gave anyway. Then the next verse takes us to heaven and a little child comes up to you and thanks you for giving, because of your giving they were able to hear the gospel and give their hearts to Jesus.
